Heirloom has some of the best cocktails in New Haven (especially now that Bar August has closed). The variety of flavors and the creativity behind the mixes are excellent, and the menu gets refreshed with new drinks every six months, which keeps things exciting. All of the bartenders are very kind and skilled—no matter who makes your drink, it’s always top quality. Prices are a bit higher than most bars in New Haven, but in my opinion, the cocktails are worth it. I only tried the steak and fries once, and for the price it didn’t quite meet my expectations. That said, I definitely recommend Heirloom for the drinks. The atmosphere is relaxed and elegant, thanks to its location inside the hotel, the restrooms are clean, and it’s a great spot to sit back and enjoy truly well-made cocktails.

Second time here and hasn’t disappointed yet! We got the ricotta and bread as a starter along with tomato soup. I got the avacado toast with an egg and everything but the bagel seasoning. The mimosas were great, but pricey-spent 14 on just one. I would definitely recommend to anyone for a hearty brunch in downtown Nee Haven. People are very friendly!

I went to the Study for dinner last night. I had a wonderful experience. food and drink were great. Even more important the staff in particular Kevin and Jeremy were amazing very helpful in helping us set up for a small party but catered to our every need for a amazing evening. Highly recommend especially for private parties

Our day started off rough, but Ishmael completely turned it around. He was the highlight of our visit to New Haven — warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He introduced us to new flavors and spirits we never would’ve tried on our own. His energy and hospitality turned an average stop into a memorable experience. If you’re here, do yourself a favor and sit at Ishmael’s bar.

Heirloom, located inside The Study at Yale, transforms local produce and fresh ingredients into truly delicious dishes. I started with the burrata and the lobster toast featuring their signature lobster salad—both were outstanding. For dinner, I had the braised chicken tagliatelle. I expected a sauce, but it was a drier preparation, with the flavors coming from the mushrooms and herbs. As soon as I saw the chocolate cake on the menu, I knew I had to try it—it was rich and indulgent, served with salted caramel ice cream, Nutella, and a white chocolate center.

Absolutely fell in love with Heirloom when we visited for brunch! The sun soaked space was exactly the vibe we were looking for, and the food was phenomenal. I couldn’t resist the French toast with butterscotch bananas, and my husband enjoyed the prosciutto and eggs. We were so glad we splurged for an appetizer with the warm ricotta dip with truffle because it was SO good! The server convinced us to get dessert, and I’m so happy he did! It’s easy to see why they’re so famous for tneir apple doughnuts. Great drinks and very attentive service. It was casual yet classy in there. It was easy to tell that everything was locally sourced because the food was all so high quality. I would love to go back for lunch or dinner!

Had a wonderful time! My bf and I went here for Vday 2026. Ivan was our server and he was amazing, so kind and funny, we had some good chats. Service was slow which was to be expected due to the rush of Vday (and our res was for 8:45 pm), Ivan was very on top of everything and even gave us free wine for our patience and understanding! The slowness didn't bother us at all either way, so that was a nice surprise! Seriously cannot recommend him enough. We did the Vday prix fixe menu, spent about $300 (both people were about $85 for the menu, plus drinks and tip!) We also had a room in the hotel and it was great! Got breakfast at Heirloom the following day and had another wonderful experience.

We stopped in to try their brunch menu and really enjoyed our time there. We were a party of 9, and they were able to accommodate us in a separate room which made it nice. For my meal I had the burger and my wife had the eggs and prosciutto. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.

Had a great breakfast at this spot while on a tour of Yale. I had the mushroom omelette with potatoes, my buddy had frittata and the breakfast sandwich. No crumbs were left on the plate. Service and the coffee were great. The potatoes in particular were really good! Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Will definitely come back again.
